RYE ART STUDY

november 2017 FEATURED artist

Victoria and Lawrence Elbroch

Victoria and Lawrence Elbroch are our November featured artist speakers. Combined with Vicky’s printmaker skills and Larry’s keen eye for photography, the duo has a creative partnership spanning decades.

Born in Chesire, England, Vicky grew up in India and Pakistan and returned to the UK where her family settled in the picturesque region of East Anglia, which provided Victoria’s first inspiration for her art. She married Larry and they moved to the United States and raised their family. Vicky studied at the Lock Haven Art Center in Orlando followed by training at the University of Oklahoma. Studying and working with Loraine Moore influenced and transformed Victoria’s knowledge and understanding of the art of printmaking. The family settled on the coast of Maine where Victoria continues to draw inspiration. Her years in and around New England have provided a wellspring of material and she continues to win numerous awards for her work.

Larry describes himself as an essentially self-taught photographer, though he has taken various workshops and courses over the years. He enjoys capturing the play of light and shadow in his photographs while also trying to capture the “spirit of place”. Like Vicky, Larry has won numerous awards for his work. Both Vicky and Larry are members of the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen and the New Hampshire Art Association. You can learn more about there art by visiting their website: HERE
